Recently, upon the examination of the arbitrator qualification examination committee of China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission(“CIETAC”), the directors of CIETAC has decided to continue to appoint the director of our firm, Mr. Huo Jianping, as an arbitrator from May 1, 2017 to April 30, 2020.
In the meantime, Mr. Huo retained an arbitrator of CMAC, from May 1, 2017 to April 30, 2020 upon the examination of the arbitrator qualification examination commitee of China Maritime Arbitration Commission(“CMAC”).
China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission (“CIETAC”) was established following the decision of the 215th conference of The State Council of the Central People's Government on May 6, 1954. It is one of the main permanent commercial arbitration institutions in the world. The panel of Arbitrators has nearly 1,000 arbitrators, all of whom are well-known experts in arbitration or other industries at home and abroad. Among them, there are more than 300 arbitrators from foreign countries, Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan, respectively from 41 countries or regions.
China Maritime Arbitration Commission (CMAC) was established under the decision of the State Council of the People's Republic of China on November 21, 1958. Domestic and foreign maritime disputes were accepted in the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade on January 22, 1959.
